I have found a good trick for me in making my small apartment feel a little more roomy. I am not sure when I started doing it but I have found a lot of great mirrors and I have a variety of small and large and they literally cover one side of my apartment. That way when you are furnishing your apartment you can make the place so much bigger with the extra light and the trick of seeing more of the place. I also like to have tall furniture that is more slender giving the appearance of room with higher ceilings.
