The other day, while my son and I were on a stroll through town, we came across a fire in a building. The fire trucks and ambulances just fascinated my son, but I was terrified. Nothing could be worse than seeing people brought out of a burning building. While we watched the firemen work, we saw two people brought out and loaded into ambulances. We stayed until the fire was out as my son wanted to see how they did it. My son managed to catch one of the men when the danger was over. His first question was why some of the men were wearing fire and rescue safety vests. The firefighter explained that they were civilians trained in assisting the fire department. My son wants to do that as soon as he is old enough. That’s a good goal for him to strive for.
