As I do not live anywhere in the affected area, I am not at all familiar with what the Gulf Coast Claims Facility is supposed to do. If I understand correctly, they do not help those they actually work on the oil-rich, own real estate or are involved in many other industries. This makes no sense to me as these seem to be the areas that would most be affected by this disaster. I’m sure people cannot rent real estate along the coast as oil is washing up onto the beaches. Oil rigs are not in operation right now so those workers are also severely affected. How exactly are they helping?
