In our society today there are numbers of people who are suffering diabetes. And because of the complications that this diabetes did bring patients are spending around a billion dollars a year of dealing with the most common complications which is the diabetic foot. These complications include things like ulcer or sores, infections, fractures and dislocations and in a large number of cases, the need for an amputation. The diabetic foot is at risk for all these problems due to the complications of diabetes. These complications include the nerve damage, so any damage that is done is not felt. There is also the reduction in circulation so when damage or a cut does occur, there is less blood supplying the nutrients. Wound healing in those with diabetes is also impaired.
