From the pages of Harikishan Mehta’s novel comes a witty adaptation of the story of a family man with an unbelievable sense of business. Mukti Bandhan brings to the screen the lives of Ishwarlal Motilal Vidrani and son Vaibhav. The two are very arrogant businessmen with no time for their wives. I.M. Vidrani has another son, Siddarth, and a daughter, Nirali. This family struggles under the shadow of their father, who does not seem to appreciate each pther’s individuality and opinion. I.M. is played by Shiv Kumar Subramaniam. His character is only brought down to earth by the support of his wife and the determination of his daughter-in-law Devki, Vaibhav’s ex-wife.
